Dunedin revisited
Copious amounts of nostalgia over a surprise birthday visit to the old hood. Many boxes ticked. Covered in the photos: the obligatory campus walking tour; revisiting Dunedin jams (over many hours and beers, and enabled by a mountain of equipment; "
" at The Crown; Emerson's Brewery; and a scenic trip back to the airport);
Rise of the risers
Although it might seem unnecessary, the carpets at the previous house rotted from having the instrument bags sitting on them for so long. Problem solved.
"Sshh...They're very, very quiet..."
Zildjian L80 cymbals (80% quieter than normal cymbals) and a set of Remo SilentStroke heads (also much quieter than normal heads). Much more neighbour-friendly than the original setup at full-blast.
Also, where is
these days?
Zildjian L80 low-volume cymbals
An excellent early birthday present from RGK and the Christchurch family. Surprisingly quiet - they live up to their marketing promise of being 80% quieter than normal cymbals while still sounding like actual cymbals. New practicing possibilities now unlocked.
The door of photos is no more
A random selection. The mammoth pack-up process has begun.
Koru Hideaway
A solid escape location for the weekend. The three resident greyhounds were an unexpected bonus.
