Double-mic setup
The new condenser mic recorded amazingly well, but I forgot to save the project on Reaper. Lesson learned.
Behringer B1 Condenser Mic
A super cheap (but surprisingly good) large-diaphragm condenser mic to hopefully get around the cymbal wash that otherwise dominates my drum recordings. Also sounds crazy good recording the guitar amp (note the "shoe mount" for the kick mic also).
Interface 3.0
Behringer UMC204HD (really rolls off the tongue). A significant improvement on the Alesis i02+, which used to clip and distort at anything over 0.5/10 on the gain knob.
M-Pro 7
This stuff
. A bit on the flashy/uber-patriotic side, but still no signs of corrosion after at least six months of languishing in a damp basement.
On a related note,
looks promising...
The never-ending battle
This was nearly an hour. Still a great guitar, but a pain in the ass to change strings. Interestingly, switching to D'Addario NYXL 12-52 strings seems to hold the tuning a bit better.
RIG
Armor-X case with tripod attachment (also compatible with GoPro accessories, helpfully). No excuses for unstable shots now.
